Our Mission

Building connections after stroke — together.

Stroke Social was created to make it easier for people in Jersey affected by stroke to come together outside of medical settings.

We believe that friendship, conversation, and shared experiences can make recovery and caregiving a little brighter.

Our quarterly socials are open to:

  • Stroke survivors looking to reconnect and share their journey

  • Carers and family members offering or seeking support

  • Health professionals wanting to engage with the community

  • Anyone interested in learning more about life after stroke

There’s no pressure, no membership fee — just a welcoming space to relax, connect, and belong.

Registration is key as we will only share the event details with registered members.

Our first gathering, on World Stroke Day 2026, brought together 49 registered survivors, carers, families and professionals from nine parishes, with the Health Minister joining us. Since then, numbers have been swapped and walks and coffees arranged. As one survivor told us: "It was really good meeting new people, and to be able to thank some of those who helped me in hospital."

Recently had a stroke, or caring for someone who has? You are especially welcome. Many people tell us that meeting others early on made the biggest difference.

Please tell us about any mobility, communication or parking needs when you register, and we will do our best to help. If you have aphasia or other communication difficulties, you are very welcome: there is no pressure to talk, and our hosts are happy to help.

We look forward to seeing you.
